Celery Oil Health Benefits

Celery is a plant. The fruit and seeds are dried or pressed into oil for use as medicine. The seeds provide a medicinally useful essential volatile oil that is beneficial in all inflammatory conditions like joint pains of arthritis & rheumatism. Sometimes celery oil is marketed in capsule form.


Some people also take celery juice as medicine. Celery is used around the world as a vegetable for the crisp petiole or leaf stalk.


The leaves are strongly flavoured and are used less often, either as a flavouring in soups and stews or as a dried herb. Celery seeds can be used as flavouring or spice, either as whole seeds or ground and mixed with salt, as celery salt.


Celery salt can also be made from an extract of the roots, or using dried leaves.


The seed oil has produced sedative effects. Celery has been used in herbal medicine to treat arthritis, nervousness, hysteria and various other conditions.


Celery oil contains oleic, stearic, linoleic, palmitic, palmitoleic,myristic, myristoleic, & petroselnic fatty acids. The oil is used in perfumes, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.


Researchers have been studying celery seed oil because of the compound 3-n-butylphthalide or 3nB. This compound has shown to reduce blood pressure in rats and relief arthritis.


The compound helps to restore balance in many of the body processes without any harmful side effects.


Celery Seed opens and expands the heart chakra and helps the heart and crown chakras align. It releases emotions of anger stemming from hurt, not enough, tired and unworthy.


As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner.


Keep away from children. Pregnant women should not use celery seed because it may lead to uterine bleeding and muscle contractions in the uterus, which could cause miscarriage.
