Ajowan Oil Health Benefits

Ajowan is an herb also known as Bishops Weed. This beneficial herb is used in culinary dishes as spice as well as a major ingredient of different kind of medicines. Ajowan seeds are small in size but taste hot and bitter. Ajowan seeds contain mineral, fiber, moisture, calcium, iron, phosphorous, carotene, thiamine, niacin and riboflavin.

 

Ajowan Oil, which is an essential oil, distilled from aerial parts (flowers, leaves) of ajowan. Ajowan contains 40 – 55% of thymol. The extraction of thymol is produced by treating the oil with a warm solution of sodium hydroxide.
